Part 5 - The wasteland

After several days of walking he reached the mountains where upon the towers stood. As he got higher up the temperature got colder and a chilly wind was blowing. Combat armor sure was good for its name as it gave protection in combat but was not good at keeping the chilling wind away. On the third day he finaly reached the first tower. It was a broken shell and the dish had fallen of. The door was blocked by some wooden boards. As it was getting late he decided that he would have to wait until morning before prying them away. He set camp near the tower and set some mines around the camp incase more bounty hunters would come. In the dawn he woke by a loud explosion. He was up with his gun ready in hand and started scanning in the direction of the blast. Towards him came something large with huge pincers and a curved tail that ended with a vicious needle like point. It reminded him of a huge oversized scorpion. He shoot at it but the bullet just bounced off its armor. He quickly ran to his backpack and toke out a mine wich he armed and gently threw in the path of the monster and then threw himself flat on the ground.
A few seconds later he was showered with dirt as the mine went off. He quickly rolled onto his back and readied his weapon incase it had survived. But it had finaly died. Even nature has som surprises in store he thought while trying not to think of what else could be out there. He sat awake the rest of the few hours that was left until morning and in the first rays of light he eximined the monster and found it surely was a gigant scorpion wich probably had mutated of´the radiation. He set his camera up and toke a picture of him and it to remind him of this fight. He then started prying the boards off the door. When that was done he wasnt surprised to find the door locked. He took out his lockpicks and after a while unlocked the door. He readied his weapon and opened the door and burst into laughter! After so much work to open the door he was greeted by a concrete wall upon wich someone had sprayed the text "Fuck off". Someone clearly had a sense of humour, but who and when? Probably a long time ago. Well that was A tower, wonder what the second one will hold?

Part 3 - Tenpenny Tower

The location of their meeting turned out to be a lone building who somehow survived the war almost intact. It was named after its current leader Tenpenny. It was he who had sent the stranger to Megaton to find someone suitable for the job. They gave Johannicus the honor of turning the key on the remote and watched from Tenpennys balcony how the bomb turned the night into day. After they offered him a room in the tower and he accepted. He put his stuff in his room and headed down to the ground floor to sell some stuff and talk to the other people living there. It turned out they where upper class bigots with a ghoul problem. Ghouls are basicly humans who didnt have any shelter during the nuclear war and who then mutated by radiation and the FEV virus into what we now call ghouls. Since he didnt want a conflict threatening his recently found home he agreed to seek the ghouls out and find a solution to the problem. The tower recidents just wanted him to kill them but Johannicus wanted to see what ghouls was like and to see if they had a better offer of course.

When he found them he saw that they looked like Zombies, but there stoped the similarities. It turned out that they where like any human and they had tried reasoning with the tower recidents about trading with them, but no luck there. Their leader made him a counter offer and, Johannicus feeling he finaly meet people like him who was rejected and diffrent, accepted. The idea was to release some mindless feral ghouls into the tower and kill the recidents. Johannicus went back to the tower and after some asking around found the door to the basement where the ghouls where waiting. He waited until nightfall before opening the gates. The ghoul leader gave him a "Ghoul Mask" that made him look like a ghoul in the eyes of mindless ones. To this day he has never taken that mask off. That night Johannicus the human died and Johannicus the evil ghoul was born. Something in him snapped and he ran along the other ghouls killing the humans and finaly feeling free.

Part 2 - Megaton

In the town of Megaton Johannicus was greeted by the local Sheriff who also was the town Mayor. He told him about the rules in town and what it had to offer in terms of services. He also found out why the town was called Megaton. Apperantly during the nuclear war one of the bombs didnt detonate and in the years after the war a small settlement was formed around the crater in wich it lied. Today the town is more protected by better walls and "The curch of Atom" woreshipped the bomb. In this crazy world Johannicus realised he needed some gear to protect himself with and headed to the local store run by Moria. She made him an offer that if he helped her with the research for her book "The wasteland survival guide" she would help him with some gear and caps.
Caps was the currency they used now and was basicly your ordinary bottle cap. Some of the stuff he helped her with was; Radiation sickness effects, Mine defusing, Injury, Food and Medical supply gathering, pre-war Library finding and finding out how a settlement was started. In the end he felt more like a labrat then a business partner and so his anger slowly started to build again. One evening, after finaly finishing the guide, when he was trying to relax in the local bar he meet another person who wasnt local. After several hours of talking and sharing drinks the stranger asked Johannicus if he wanted to blow the town up. He only needed to attach a small Pulse detonator to the bomb so they could blow it by remote. Johannicus, fueled by his anger of being used and lied to, agreed. After picking up his stuff and stealing some more weapons and ammo from the local armory he set off to the south in the night towards the meeting point that the stranger told him about.

Part 1 - The beginning

Johannicus grew up in Vault 101 with his dad. His mother had died while giving birth to him. Living in a closed vault was not like your regular upbringing as its a enclosed space with limited things to do and explore. Sadly Johannicus was early influenced by the other children in the vault who teased him and tried to steal his stuff. This made him a very troublesome child indeed. Then one day he was awaken in his bed by his best friend. After talking to her he found out that his dad had escaped the vault and the Overseer had killed dads best friend Jonas when he refused to tell the Overseer where dad had gone. This was of course hard to believe at first but after talking to her he found out that that he needed to escape aswell. She gave him a gun for self defense and some ammo but Johannicus was so angry at his father lieing about his upbringing and at the Overseer for killing his dads friend Jonas, that he simple blasted his way out and in the process killed the Overseer. He then opened the door and never looked back. The sight he saw there was a bit of a shock in the beginning. It was a desolate landscape filled with ruins and rocks. But what could you expect after a nuclear war 200 years ago? After walking around amongst the ruins of a small town he saw a sign for a town called "Megaton" and walked up to its gates..
