Part 6 - The second tower

The second tower was not blocked with boards like the first but it was locked. After fiddling with the lockpicks for a while he finaly got the lock open. What greated him there was a bit surprising. The tower looked like it hadnt aged one bit wich struck him as a bit odd. The computers where all running and all the lights where on. The refridgerator was also working and had food in it. This could only mean one thing, some one lived here. He checked his rifle to check if it was loaded incase someone decided he was tresspassing. Slowly he walked up the stairs. The steel complained under his weight as he made his way up. All of the sudden he came under fire from above. The bullets rained down as he just reached the second floor. He threw himself out of sight and rolled along the floor until he felt the wall against his back. The firing stoped and as the silence drew on he heard a biping sound on regular timeing. He moved slowly towards edge while keeping a lookout upwards and there on the cealing he saw a sentry gun scanning for hostiles.
He could barely aim his rifle at it and it was not a good firing position he had to shoot from. His first shoot went wide and his second riccocheted off the armor. Thats when he noticed the sensor unit and decided to take it out and see what happened. With the sensor unit broken the gun stoped its scanning and was as far as he cared dead. He stod up and brushed his clothes off. Then made his way up the rest off the stairs. On the top floor was a door wich lead outside and what a sight it was! He could see for miles and it was breathtaking! He noticed more towers in the distance and when he slowly went around the tower he found another door. Inside was a ladder wich went up to the center of the disc. The disc itself had lost some metal plates but it made for exellent holes to view the surrounding area. He could really understand why someone made this their home. He decided to stay for a while in hope of meeting the owner.
